Max Mouser Block Over Bar    *eligible for WV state records*

  • 30 sec to get the Block over the bar. Block may start vertical or horizontal. Athlete starts with hands off.
  • Each athlete may lift or pass on any given weight. Once you miss a weight, you are “out” and will be credited with your highest successful attempt. The athlete is responsible for maintaining his/her position in the rotation; failure to do so may result in disqualification from the event.
  • In the event of a tie, the athlete that took fewer attempts to reach the weight will be credited with the higher placing.
  • Elbow sleeves & knee sleeves (buckling mechanisms and straps must not be tightened), a single belt, and wrist wraps are legal. Belt buckle to back/side
  • If the Block has been loaded over the bar and time expires as the Block is falling, the lift will still count.
  • Blocks will increase in 20 pound increments.
  • If we have a large number of competitors, we may limit you to 3 attempts

Circus Dumbbell for Reps

  • 60sec
  • Light and Heavy options. Any reps on the Heavy bell beats any reps on the light bell. You may move to the Light bell at any time, but you CANNOT move to the Heavy bell after you have attempted the Light bell. You are not required to attempt the Heavy bell if you do not want to.
  • If there is a tie for reps on the Heavy bell, then whoever had more reps on the Light bell would receive the higher placing points. If neither athlete completed any reps on the Light bell, then the tie remains.
  • Must wait for down signal on each rep. Down signal is obtained by standing erect with the feet within shoulder width and motionless, the stance not staggered, knees/hips/elbows extended, and the dumbbell under full control and motionless at the top.
  • Dropping the bells will result in a “no lift”. 2 hands MUST be used to lower the bell to the ground on each lift. Failure to do so will result in a “no lift”. Yes I realize many places just let you toss things around but that’s not my problem ladies.
  • Dumbbell must touch the ground on each rep. Only one hand may be used for the pressing portion of the lift. The off-hand must be removed before a rep is initiated.
  • Snatching is not legal. DB must contact shoulder before being pressed. If you can snatch the heavy bell in your class then you should move up a class to challenge yourself.

Fingal’s Fingers  *eligible for WV state records*

  • Athletes will have 75sec to flip the pole as many times as possible. Most flips wins.
  • Split times will be taken so that rep ties can be broken. Example: Jill does 3 flips and Jane does 3 as well, but Jill is faster. Jill wins.
  • Elbow sleeves & knee sleeves (without buckling mechanisms), a single belt, and wrist wraps are legal.

Combo Truck/Boat Pull

  • 75sec time limit to cover the 80ft course
  • Harness and hand rope will be used but separately!
  • Part one of the pull will be a hands free pull (aka no hand rope) with a harness only for 40ft.
  • Upon completing part 1, athlete will slip out of the harness (no buckles so you can take it off easily) and immediately begin an arm over arm pull (seated with feet braced against a board) and pull a Viking Ship toward herself. Once this Viking Ship is pulled 40ft, the challenge is complete.
  • Everyone will use the same harness. Please do not pester me about using your own harness. I won’t budge. In 8 years, probably a dozen plus contests, and countless training sessions with 110 pound ladies all the way up to 400+lb men, no one has ever “come out” of the harness in mid-pull. The only way to accomplish that would be to literally stop pulling and move backward to create slack while letting your arms hang down to the side and slumping your shoulders. If you do that, you didn’t want to win anyway.
  • Fastest time wins.
  • You may assign your own “rope handler” if you wish, if not, one will be provided for you

Tire Flip to Axle Deadlift

  • 60sec time limit. Most reps wins.
  • Athlete must flip a giant tire over a 30ft course. Once finished, athlete will perform as many deadlifts as possible with a loaded axle. Tires will be loaded on the bar. Pick height of the bar is 13in.
  • Athlete must wait for a down and up signal on each deadlift repetition or the lift will not count. Knees must be locked, back straight, and hips extended in order to receive the down command. An “up” or “lift” signal will be given once the bar has been set down. Hands must remain in contact with the bar all the way down. Please do not drop or slam the equipment on purpose.
  • Knee sleeves, belts, standard straps and figure eights are allowed. No deadlift suits or compression shorts, etc

General Rules/Usual Mouser Stuff

  • In the event of a tie in the final standings, 1st place finishes will decide the winner. If there is still a tie, then 2nd place finishes will be the determinant, and so on. If a tie cannot be broken this way, athletes will compete head to head in a tie breaker event.
  • Sportsmanship is expected and required. This is the greatest sport in the world, let’s keep it that way.
  • There will be a pre-event prayer. No one is expected to participate, so please do not feel obligated. All we ask is to be respectful of those that do or do not wish to participate.
  • This is a drug free contest. If you are juiced feel free to come cheer on your buddies but please do not bother to sign up. Don’t be surprised if I show up with a duffel bag full of testing kits!
  • If you have a question, please ask! I would rather take a minute to clarify something than to see someone have a poor showing due to a misunderstanding.
