If you can’t find a team member for every spot then someone of less weight may fill in the upper spot, for example: if you cant find a 266+ and have two guys at 200-265, one of them may fill the spot as the 266+. 5th and 6th Team members are optional, and can be anyone you choose! All team members MUST participate in at least two events (each event may have its own requirement)!!

Awards- TBA

Entry-  EARLY BIRD $67 until May 31st, then entries will go to $77. Late fees kick in on September 1st (one month from the competition), at which time entries will go to. Being in conjunction with a community festival, there are absolutely no refunds for any reason.

Spectator fee – TBA

Here’s how this is going to work..

  • Teams may represent their state, their gym, their city, their place of work, a group of friends, or nothing in particular. This is your choice. Each team must have a NAME though… a family friendly name
  • Teams must be completely assembled before registering! No refunds will be given however, even if your teammates bail on you. Be careful who you accept verbal commitments from. I am not responsible for helping you find replacements… but I will help if I can.
  • Every team must have a captain. This captain is responsible for communications with the officials (to help maintain order amongst the chaos!), no other team member will be responsible for decision making, you may “huddle up” and discuss amongst each other, but ultimately, decisions are up to the captain.
  • Every member must compete in at least two events, but you may compete in all 5 events What this means is: if you have a deadlift specialist on your team, you can’t have them on your team to just compete in the deadlift ladder, they must also compete in one other event. This also means that there is some strategy involved! Pick your best team members for their best events to produce the most points, but if you only have 4 team members then you will all have to compete in every event!
  • Teams that register first will go last in order, teams that register last will go first in order.
  • Female competitors below 140 will have their own weights and female competitors 141 and above will all have the same weights. All men will have set weights per weight class (200-265 will all use the same weights regardless if you weigh more or less than 231lbs).

The Events Are…

Overhead Clean & Press

For this event, one whole team will go at once. Teams are given the choice of which implement they would like to press. The options will be as follows: log, axle, circus dumbbell (women will do a singular CDB clean and press, men will do a double CDB clean and press!) and mouser block. Teams will strategically pick which member they would like to press which implement. As stated above, these decisions must be finalized by the team captain. All teams must have their decisions finalized and given to the judges PRIOR the start of the event so that the implements can be loaded to the appropriate weights for the competitors. Once the decisions are finalized and given to the judges, no changes will be allowed.

Teams have 60 seconds to produce as many reps as possible, most reps wins! Every implement must touch the floor between each rep, each competitor must receive a down command by locking out their elbows and showing control of the implement.

Not allowed: grip shirts or anything tacky/sticky, elbow wraps or sleeves with straps/buckles.

Event weights:

Women <140: 10″ Log- 103lbs.  Axle- 113lbs.  CDB- 58lbs.  Mini block- 100lbs.

Women >140: 10″ Log- 133lbs.  Axle- 143lbs.  CDB- 73lbs.  Mini block- 120lbs.

Men’s <200: 12″ Log- 165lbs.  Axle- 173lbs.  Double CDB- 73lbs each.  Big block- 160lbs.

Men’s 201-265: 12″ Log- 215lbs.  Axle- 223lbs.  Double CDB- 83lbs each.  Big block- 200lbs.

Men’s 266+: 12″ Log- 245lbs.  Axle- 253lbs.  Double CDB- 93lbs each.  Big block- 220lbs.

Team Deadlift Ladder

This event will be head to head. Teams will pick which 4 competitors will go for this event prior to the start of the event, again no changes once the event has begun. Two teams will go at once, both teams female competitors will go at once, then both teams <200 male, then 201-265 male and finally both teams 265+ male. Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete 4 implements. The first three will be completed for a single rep and the last implement will be max reps with however much time you have left. The order of the implements will be: axle from the floor, 11″ stiff bar from pulling blocks, 13″ mouser axle (2 1/4″ axle) from pulling blocks and deadlift bar from the floor for reps. The team with the most reps wins. If you only complete the first implement you will still be given one rep, you do not need to get to the final implement for your reps to “start counting”

Not allowed: Deadlift suits or power pants of ANY KIND, straps that are so long your fingers do not make contact with the bar, or any grip “hooks”

Event Weights:

Women <140: Axle- 183lbs.  11″ Stiff Bar- 205lbs.  13″ Mouser Axle- 221lbs.  Deadlift Bar- 185lbs.

Women >140: Axle- 223lbs.  11″ Stiff Bar- 245lbs.  13″ Mouser Axle- 261lbs.  Deadlift Bar- 225lbs.

Men’s <200: Axle- 333lbs.  11″ Stiff Bar- 365lbs.  13″ Mouser Axle- 381lbs.  Deadlift Bar- 345lbs.

Men’s 201-265: Axle- 423lbs.  11″ Stiff Bar- 445lbs.  13″ Mouser Axle- 461lbs.  Deadlift Bar- 445lbs.

Men’s 266+: Axle- 493lbs.  11″ Stiff Bar- 525lbs.  13″ Mouser Axle- 543lbs.  Deadlift Bar- 515lbs.

Carry Medley for Time

For this event, one whole team will go at once. Fastest time wins. Female competitors will carry a sandbag 60′ (20yds), men’s <200 competitors will carry a mouser block 60′ (20yds), men’s 201-265 competitors will carry a super yoke 60′ (20yds), and men’s 265+ competitors will finish off by carrying a set of farmers handles 60′ (20yds) across the finish line! Successive teammates will not be able to start their carry until their teammate crosses the line and physically “tags” the next teammates hand. There is a two minute time limit, if your team does not finish we will take the distance completed.

Event Weights:

Women <140: 100lb sandbag

Women >140: 150lb sandbag

Men’s <200: 200lb mouser block

Men’s 201-265: 510lb yoke

Men’s 266+: Farmer’s handles weighing 242lbs each

Stone Masters

Team captain will assign 2 team members to the 2 natural stone bear hug stations (stations 1 and 2), and 2 members to the 2 Atlas Stone stations (stations 1 and 2). In short, the time limit for atlas stone lifter at station 1 to rep out is determined by his/her buddy at stone hug station 1. The time limit for atlas stone lifter at station 2 to rep out is determined by his/her buddy at stone hugger station 2.

On the judge’s command, a 90 second timer will start and the natural stone bear huggers will lift the stones from the floor. Once they are to the bear hug position, the athletes at the atlas stone stations may begin lifting. Atlas stone lifters have the option to get the stone to their shoulder for 5 points, or press the stone overhead for 20 points– total combined points wins… but here’s the catch… the stone lifters may only continue lifting while their stone hugger remains huggin’. Stone huggers are allowed to set the stone to their lap and regain their grip, but while the stone is lapped, the atlas stone lifter must stop. Once the hugger is back to hugging, the atlas stone lifter can begin lifting again. If the stone hugger drops the stone to the floor, they are done and their partnered atlas stone lifter must stop lifting.

This event will be the most strategic out of all of the events (which is why this comp is so fun right???)! A good hugger may be able to make up for a mistake in the atlas stones by holding on long enough to allow extra reps. A great stone lifter may be able to compensate for a not-so-good hugger by busting out many reps quickly before the hug goes. Having a combination of tough people with a high pain tolerance to be the huggers and stout stone wrestlers is the optimal combination!

Not allowed: ANYTHING REMOTELY STICKY OR TACKY

Event weights:

Women <140: Natural stone- 126lbs.  Atlas stone- 115lbs

Women >140: Natural stone- 150lbs.  Atlas stone- 135lbs

Men’s <200: Natural stone- 183lbs.  Atlas stone- 200lbs

Men’s 201-265: Natural stone- 220lbs.  Atlas stone- 240lbs

Men’s 266+: Natural stone- 240lbs.  Atlas stone- 260lbs

Mystery Event

It’s a mystery! Most likely something big and heavy, but very well could be something small…. OR something on fire! (probably not, but you never know!)

General Rules/Usual Stuff

  • In the event of a tie in the final standings, 1st place finishes will decide the winner. If there is still a tie, then 2nd place finishes will be the determinant, and so on. If a tie cannot be broken this way, teams will compete in a tie breaker.
  • Sportsmanship is expected and required. This is the greatest sport in the world, let’s keep it that way.
  • This is an honor-system drug free contest.
  • If you have a question, please ask! I would rather take a minute to clarify something than to see someone have a poor showing due to a misunderstanding.
