Max Deadlift

  • NATIONAL RECORDS on the line, as well as brand new state records for “deadlift bar”!
  • Last man standing with PL style attempts. 4 attempts maximum, must give next attempt to score keeper withion 60sec of last attempt. When you miss, you’re out. Chart will be available with eligible attempt selections.
  • Existing records may be beaten by as little as 5lbs. This applies only to existing records, not to classes that have no current records.
  • Must wait for down command. To receive a down command, knees must be locked, feet must be motionless, hips extended, shoulders back, and back straight.
  • Hands must remain in contact with the bar all the way to the floor. Dropping the bar WILL result in a “no lift”. Throwing a hissy fit because of a no-lift call will result in the judge still not caring.
  • Straps and sleeves legal. One belt is allowed.
  • Suits, hooks, and oils are not legal.

Arm Over Arm Pull

  • 60sec to complete the course.
  • Fastest time wins. If the course is not completed, credit will be given for the distance completed
  • A 2 inch rope will be used to pull a heavy weight in a seated position. The plan is to pull a Viking Ship up a steep hill in our parking lot. We will add weight for each class. Stay tuned to the website and FB page for details!

Max Mouser Block Press

  • The inaugural WORLD records will be set here! National records also on the line as well as WV state records!
  • Last Man Standing format, Wessels Rule. Chart available with eligible attempt selections. Next attempt must be given to score keeper within 60sec of last attempt.
  • Athlete must wait for down command.
  • Men use Mouser Block original, women use the Mouser-Mini (coming soon).
  • To receive down command, knees must be locked; feet stationary, not staggered, and within shoulder width; hips extended; upright posture; elbows locked; implement must be motionless to demonstrate control. Pressing with a “layback” technique is fine, however posture must be upright at lockout to receive the down command.
  • Dropping the implement will result in a “no lift” call. Object must be controlled to the ground. This is not easy with a big rectangular block, but clear effort must be made to control the descent.
  • Sleeves, one belt, and wrist wraps are legal.
  • No tacky (if that wasn’t obvious).
  • Mouser Blocks available at www.mouserpower.com/mouser-block/

Carry and Load Medley

  • 60sec time limit
  • Objects must be picked up and carried, in order, then loaded either over a bar.
  • Objects will include the Stone of Steel, the Power Keg, the Mouser Block. Women use 17″ SoS, men use 20″.
  • Women load to 48″ and men to 52″.
  • Stay tuned to the website and Facebook page for exact details. ~35ft each implement
  • Standard rules apply – no tacky, no spray tack, but “tacky towels” are permitted.

Hercules Hold

  • Athletes will hold as long as possible; longest time wins.
  • No grip aids allowed.
  • Deep Waters Hercules Hold implements will be used. These will be available soon at mouserpower.com

General Rules/Usual Mouser Stuff

  • In the event of a tie in the final standings, 1st place finishes will decide the winner. If there is still a tie, then 2nd place finishes will be the determinant, and so on. If a tie cannot be broken this way, athletes will compete head to head in a 2-out-of-3 Mas Wrestling match to determine the winner.
  • Sportsmanship is expected and required. This is the greatest sport in the world, let’s keep it that way.
  • There will be a pre-event prayer. No one is expected to participate, so please do not feel obligated. All we ask is to be respectful of those that do or do not wish to participate.
  • This is a drug free contest. If you are juiced feel free to come cheer on your buddies but please do not bother to sign up.
  • If you have a question, please ask! I would rather take a minute to clarify something than to see someone have a poor showing due to a misunderstanding.
